Braintrust is the end-to-end developer platform for building world-class AI products. AI development is a relatively new paradigm combining code and datasets, incrementally refining both using frequent evaluations. Our product lets you evaluate LLM applications and iteratively improve them, with a rich set of tools to visualize changes and interrogate failures.

Developers integrate Braintrust into their continuous integration and development loops, often running 50+ experiments per day.

Our team includes AI, design, and database veterans who have exited multiple companies and worked at Figma, Nuro, Impira, Singlestore, Google, Amazon, Cruise, and Airtable. We're backed by Greylock, Elad Gil, Basecase, and leading CEOs/founders.

We are building a work-in-person culture in San Francisco. We have one 30-minute meeting per week. We value ownership, bias for action, and unstructured collaboration.

About the role

We are looking to hire our first sales engineer. Our primary users are software engineers and PMs at world-class tech companies who are working to leverage GenAI. You will partner with our sales team to navigate every part of the sales process, working closely with technical stakeholders at companies ranging from small startups to massive enterprises. Specifically, you will:

  • Deeply understand the needs of our customers, which includes staying up to date with the cutting edge of AI development
  • Join and support initial discovery meetings
  • Create personalized demos
  • Support and manage technical POCs
  • Support customers post-sale
  • Help build a world-class SE org from the ground up

Ideal candidate credentials

  • 3+ years of experience as a sales engineer or in solutions consulting
  • Ability to connect a customer's specific problems to Braintrust's solutions
  • Proficiency in Typescript and Python
  • Has written prompts / tinkered with GPT models and apps
  • Previous experience founding or working at startups is a plus
